VIsionArts’ 4 Ingredients for Success: Ingredient 2 – Family Focus

VisionArts is built on a culture of caring. We are passionate about helping families maintain the highest level of eyesight and vision health. That is why we have made one of our “4 ingredients for success,” our incredible family focus!

In line with our focus on making top-notch eye care accessible to the whole family, a priority is made in our office to make children’s visits as easy as possible on everyone involved! We try to make your child’s visits to the office fun by playing cartoons in the exam room, giving them a coupon for a free ice cream cone after their visit, and giving each family a free Eyefoods for Kids book during their first visit to our office. During the summer months, we set aside special kids’ exam days and transform the office into a practice especially for the kids! Not only are cartoons played in the exam rooms, as normal, but they are played in the welcome area as well. Kids’ music is played over our sound system and the staff dresses more casually. The welcome area features crayons and coloring pages for children’s enjoyment, and eyeglasses shaped cookies are offered to the children at the end of their visits.

Each spring, we hold an event for the whole family, called the Great Glasses Play Day. Held at a local park, we invite the entire community to come learn about eye health while participating in eyeglasses related crafts, playing carnival games and enjoying eye healthy smoothies made by Dr. Vann himself! We also do our part to help the family prepare for the school year by participating in a back to school fair each year where families in need can go to get free school supplies. Along with our assigned school supply for the year, we hand out Eye Didn’t Know That activity books that teach children all about their eyes and healthy vision. We are also proud to participate in the Healthy Kids’ Days held at the local YMCA every year. Second and third graders from each of the three elementary schools in our city come to learn all about being healthy. With us, they learn how to care for their eyes, what foods to eat to take care of their vision, and habits that will help keep their eyes healthy throughout their lifetime.

We at VIsionArts are happy to be a part of your family. For more information, come in and see us today!
