Meet the staff of VisionArts

Lori – Doctor Assistant

Lori has been with VisionArts since Feb 2003. She spent a year welcoming patients at the front desk and then expanded her skills into the clinic area. The last few years in clinic, Lori has worked directly in the exam room as Dr. Vann's assistant and now shares those duties with Wendy. Her responsibilities here also include working with surgeons’ offices to schedule patients who are interested in Lasik surgery or who are in need of cataract or other surgery. Lori also assists Dr. Vann at our area nursing homes to help care for family members of our patients along with other residents who have need for eye care. She loves working with our patients and spending time with our other staff members. When not at the office, she enjoys spending time with her husband of 30 years, her 2 grown children and now 2 grandchildren. Wendy – Doctor Assistant

Wendy has been with VisionArts for over 4 years. She began her experience with us in the dispensary area assisting patients with frame selections, adjustments and repairs. She has since expanded her patient care into the clinic area, gathering important patient eye health information for Dr. Vann. She has now expanded that care into the exam room where she assists Dr. Vann during our patient’s evaluation with him. Wendy also focuses her responsibilities on educating our patients on the importance of nutrition and antioxidants in slowing the progression of many eye diseases. Wendy is grateful for the opportunity to make a difference in the lives of our patients. Heather – Board Certified Optician, ABOC, NCLEC, CPOT

Heather joined VisionArts in Dec 2008, bringing with her over 5 years of previous optical experience and 2 years of previous medical experience. In 2005, Heather passed the American Board of Optician’s examination and became ABOC or a Board Certified Optician. She has since passed the National Contact Lens exam and Paraoptometric training to add NCLEC and CPOT to her name. Heather meets with frame and lens representatives to get the most updated frame and lens technology to keep our patients informed of new technology. With this information we can provide the latest and greatest fashion frames and newest lens design to our patients. She educates our patients in the best selection of eyewear for their lifestyle needs. Behind the scenes she is ordering your glasses, verifying your prescriptions, checking to make sure inventory is accurate, keeping up to date on all optical related information. Heather enjoys the outdoors with her daughter and two dogs, taking walks, playing tennis and other activities. Gayle – Frame Stylist

Gayle originally joined VisionArts in 2003. At that time she brought with her 3 years experience in the Optical field and now has a total of nearly 11 years in the field. After a few years leave from our office, many patients will be happy to see that Gayle has returned to provide you with the high standard of care and product that is available at VisionArts. While doing so, our patients will enjoy Gayle’s caring and thorough expertise that she knows our patients have come to trust. Gayle assists patients in choosing the best eyewear for their vision needs and lifestyle. Gayle works with our frame representatives to ensure we have only the highest quality eyewear that our patients deserve. Martha – Receptionist

Martha joined VisionArts in 2010. She has assisted patients with frame selections and eyewear adjustments or repairs since she began with us. She is currently utilizing her strong customer service skills and smiling face to assist patients in the front desk area of reception.  Martha may be reached by email.

Cindy Vann - Marketing Coordinator and Board Certified Optician

Married to Dr. Vann since 1987 while he attended optometry school, Cindy first worked part time for this practice when Dr. White owned it. Dr. Vann and she purchased the practice in 1992. In 2005, Cindy became a Certified Optician of the American Board of Opticians after passing the Opticians' Examination. Cindy has worked in all of the staffing positions at one time or another, however the current focus of her attention is in marketing and human resource matters. Shelley - Office Manager

Shelley is one of the most valuable members of the VisionArts family having been with us since 1995. With her position as Office Manager, Shelley is the senior member on staff and can practically run the entire operation single-handedly. A few of the duties we rely on her to perform include staff management, accounting, customer relations, patient satisfaction, doctor-patient relations, employee training, performance reviews, cost control analysis, insurance claims management and floating technician to fill any vacant position where needed.
